About / Biography

My name is Dion Schuur, I am a passionate bassplayer from the Netherlands who loves to combine all kinds of music to create a great performance. Being on stage is my favourite thing in the world and I love to make music with fellow musicians and give the audience something they will remember. After getting my bachelor in jazz & pop music at the conservatory in Zwolle (the Netherlands) I played in various bands in different styles such as; pop, jazz, latin, blues, funk and theatre. I am a very versatile bassplayer who loves to be challenged in order to create great music. I can play almost any genre, I can play 4-string and 5-string basses with all techniques including; pizzacato, thumb and with a plectrum. I also play synthbass and I am quite comfortable on the guitar, I can also do backing vocals while playing and I have a lot of experience standing on stage having performed for over 3000 people.
