Hello, my name is Ned Wheaton, and I am a newly available classical pianist.
Though originally from the UK, I have just completed my Masters in Music Performance at the University of South Dakota where I studied under HFM Franz Liszt/Weimar tutored Dr. Alessandra Feris, and was accepted with a Graduate Assistantship. Prior to this I obtained my BA degree in Music Performance with scholarship at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire under the tutorage of department head Professor John Thwaites, Jan Loeffler and occasionally with Professor Pascal Nemirovski, one of the most sought-after piano pedagogues in the world. Through my education I have been able to participate in many master classes with other renowned pianists, including Peter Donohoe, Lars Vogt, Murray Mclachlan and Vanessa Latarche.
Whilst having a broad solo performing experience in the UK, US and Italy in both festivals and competitions, I also have plenty experience in chamber music performance, and had the opportunity while in America to work with opera singers for opera scene projects. I also have experience as a classical accompanist and piano teacher.
Now I have finished my education, I am excited to start this new journey, perform more, expand my repertoire and experiences. I would describe myself as a friendly person who loves engaging with people and opening myself up to new experiences, and I have always enjoyed travelling. I am able to play anything between complex concert classical pieces to easy listening classical, depending on the environment and the requirements.
My recent recital included:
Chopin:
- Scherzo Op.20 No.1
- Scherzo Op.39 No.3
- Nocturne Op.15 No.1
Mozart: Sonata No.18 K.576
Ravel: Sonatine
